A galaxy is a system made up of hundreds of millions of stars.
The universe contains hundreds of millions of galaxies.
The high number of stars within galaxies and the high number of galaxies within the universe lead many scientists to conclude that there is a high probability of life on planets orbiting at least some small fraction of stars.
We live in the Milky Way Galaxy.
